Get to know our new GP – Dr Mark Bennett
Dr Mark Bennett has lived in Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast all his life. A devoted family man, married for 30 years to Monika. Monika has worked as the receptionist at St Pauls Lutheran Church and prior to having children was a secondary school teacher and a teacher aide. Together they have 3 children and one grandchild.
James 27 is a Physicist at University of Queensland at St Lucia doing a job as a post-doctorate.
Elizabeth 24 has just finished a Masters of Teaching and will commence teaching at Wilsonton State High School in 2019. She is also mum to Rylee 5. Rylee will start Year One at a local school next year.
Rebecca 17 is commencing at University of Queensland Gatton campus doing Equine Science. She enjoys show jumping with her horse “Striker Park Astro”.
Mark first graduated in 1988 with honours second class and then completed his fellowship in 1993. He worked in Caboolture and Morayfield for a time before running his own clinic with Monika in Bribie Island for a decade.
After selling this clinic he worked at a large clinic in Morayfield before moving to Wamuran and Woodford where he has been practising up until recently.
Alongside his many professional talents which include GP supervisor for college fellowship and supervising IMG’s and senior medical students from Qld and Armidale, Mark also holds a pilot’s licence (non-current), he has been a volunteer surf life saver, Chairman and Vice Chairman at their church and a scout leader. His personal interests include fishing, especially fly fishing and amateur photography.
