Dr Sian Ford

Dr Ford trained at the University of Wales, Cardiff where she worked in Wales and North Yorkshire undertaking Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Paediatrics and General Practice before embarking on an Australian working holiday adventure in Charleville.

Subsequently Dr Ford worked as a solo general practitioner and Visiting Medical Officer for Queensland Health for 13 years prior to the devastating Charleville flood in 2010.  Additionally, she worked for the Royal Flying Doctor Service providing female general practice services in remote areas for over 10 years.

Dr Ford has interests in many medical fields including rural and remote medicine, women’s health, paediatrics, minor skin surgery and preventative care. Dr Ford is an accredited supervisor with RACGP and a medical educator for GP registrars and medical students. Dr Ford is currently a Director of RHealth. She has experience in corporate governance for non-for-profit organisations. 

Dr Ford is the Director and Principal of Middle Ridge Family Practice whilst also enjoying the challenge of operating a family business in Charleville. She was nominated in the 2012 Queensland Rural Remote and Regional Women’s Network Strong Women Leadership Awards for her business skills.

Siân and husband Nick have three children Elizabeth, Katherine and Alexander. Elizabeth is studying Chemical and Biomedical Engineering at The University of Queensland, Katherine is enjoying studying Medicine at James Cook University and Alexander attends Toowoomba Grammar School. The family has enjoyed the wonderful educational, sporting and cultural activities afforded in Toowoomba. Outside of work, Dr Ford has a keen interest in photography, and a passion for travel and being creative in the kitchen.

Dr Felicity Constable

Dr Constable trained in Brisbane completing a BSc (Phys Pharm) in 2000 and her MBBS at University of Queensland in 2004 before being balloted to Mackay for her intern year.  Whilst in Mackay, she completed her DRANZCOG Advanced before moving to the Western Downs in 2008 to take up a Senior Medical Officer role at Dalby Hospital.  Here she completed her FACRRM in 2013. In 2014, Felicity moved to Chinchilla where she served as the Medical Superintendent.

Dr Constable relocated to Toowoomba with her family in late 2016 and currently positions as a Rural Generalist Training Advisor; Chair of the Consultative Committee for DRANZCOG; Senior Clinical Editor Darling Downs HealthPathways whilst working at Middle Ridge Family Practice four days per week.

Dr Constable remains a keen supporter of excellence in rural health care, particularly women’s health and obstetric care. 

Felicity is married to James and they have a noisy house, with three sons. They also have a cheeky cocker spaniel, Pippa and guinea fowl.  In her spare time, Dr Constable enjoys gardening and travelling.

Dr Mark Bennett

Mark studied medicine at the University of Queensland, graduating with second-class honours in 1988 and completing his fellowship with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) in 1993.

Mark studied medicine at the University of Queensland, graduating with second class honours in 1988 and completing his fellowship in General Practice in 1993.

Dr Bennett has worked in Caboolture and Morayfield for a time running his own general practice with Monika on Bribie Island for a decade. After selling this practice, he worked in Morayfield before moving to Wamuran and Woodford to practice. Mark relocated to Toowoomba in 2019.

Dr Bennett’s special interests include chronic disease, palliative care, mental health and weight loss.

Alongside his professional talents, Dr Bennett loves to share his medical knowledge with nursing, medical students and general practice registrars.

Dr Bennett is an accredited supervisor for RAGCP and supervises international medical graduates.

Dr Bennett has been married to his wife Monika for 35 years and they have three children; James, Elizabeth and Rebecca. They also have two grandchildren named Rylee and Charlotte. Monika has previously worked at St Pauls Lutheran Church and prior to having children was a secondary School Teacher and a Teacher’s Aide. She also worked as an administrative assistant at Emmanuel Lutheran Fellowship.

James has a PHD in Physics and is working at Griffith University. Elizabeth has a Masters of Teaching and is a mother to Rylee who is attending school in Toowoomba. Their youngest child Rebecca lives in Bribie Island and works on the Sunshine Coast.

Mark has been a volunteer Surf Life Saver, Chairman and Vice Chairman of their church and a Scout Leader. He has strong links with Concordia Lutheran College. His personal interests include fishing, especially fly-fishing and amateur photography.

Dr Tiana Dall’Osto – 

Dr Dall’Osto grew up in North Queensland and was one of the first medical students to graduate from James Cook University in 2005.

Dr Dall’Osto completed a Diploma in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital becoming a Fellow of The Royal Australian College of General Practitioners in 2011. Tiana worked in Brisbane prior to moving to USA for 12 months for her husband’s work as an ENT specialist.

Dr Dall’Osto has a keen interest in women’s health issues, infant feeding concerns and general paediatrics. She has a Certificate in Breastfeeding Counselling through the Australian Breastfeeding Association and is working towards her qualifications as a Lactation Consultant.  Tiana has also previously worked in an allergy clinic dealing with eczema, food allergies and intolerances, hay fever and associated conditions.

Dr Dall’Osto also enjoys her involvement in GP registrar education and training.

Tiana and husband have three gorgeous young girls who love their trampoline and dog, Fergal. In her spare time, Tiana loves to bake, dabble in various art mediums, and spending time with her children and extended family.

Dr Tamara Johansen

Dr Johansen grew up in Toowoomba then studied Veterinary Science at Sydney University. She practised for five years in Brisbane before deciding to study medicine.

Dr Tamara graduated from Griffith University in 2013 where she was awarded the Rural Doctors Association of Queensland student prize.  Tamara subsequently spent three years at Toowoomba Hospital. She holds the Royal Australian College of Obstetricians & Gynaecologist’s Certificate in Women’s Health (RANZCOG CWH).

Dr Tamara joined the practice in 2017. Tamara has special interests in women’s health, skin cancer, geriatrics and family medicine.

Tamara is grateful to have a supportive husband and has three very handsome boys. garden, growing She enjoys playing the piano, violin and guitar and volunteering as a Board Member for the TAFEA Health Clinic in Vanuatu.

Dr Gemma O’Leary 

Dr Gemma O’Leary grew up in Clifton and completed her education there before graduating from

Griffith University in 2013.  She concluded her intern years at the Gold Coast University Hospital and received her fellowship from the Royal Australian College of General Practitioner on 18 February 2020.

Dr O’Leary joined Middle Ridge Family Practice in February 2020 and has been granted her Fellowship of Advanced Rural General Practice Training (Paediatrics) in September 2020.

Dr O’Leary’s special interests include paediatrics, perinatal care and women’s health. Gemma also has a wealth of experience in Emergency Medicine. Additionally, she continues her commitment to rural health working at Oakey Hospital on weekends.

Between working at the practice and the hospital, Dr O’Leary loves to relax at home on her weekends off.

Dr James Sprouster

James completed his Bachelor of Commerce (Economics Major) at the University of Wollongong in 2005. In 2007 he relocated to undertake a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery at the University of Western Australia completing this in November 2011.

On completion of his hospital rotations at Fremantle and Wollongong Hospitals, James relocated to Theodore in 2014 as a GP Registrar/Medical Officer with Right of Private Practice.

After completing his GP training in Theodore, and after the birth of their first child, the family moved to Rockhampton with James working at Yeppoon Family Practice and The Family Practice Emu Park.

James holds a Certificate of Primary Skin Cancer Medicine and has attained his FRACGP. He has extensive experience in the management of all aspects of general practice and rural emergency medicine.

His interest away from medicine includes the stock and financial markets, but most importantly spending time with his beautiful family.

Dr Gemma Brown

Gemma grew up in Moree, NSW. She studied at the University of Queensland and graduated from medicine in 2017. Gemma has worked in Toowoomba for most of her career. She has special interests in women’s and children’s health, including antenatal and postnatal care. 

Gemma has obtained an Advanced Diploma of Obstetrics and Gynaecology (DRANZCOG Advanced), and is able to perform procedures such as intrauterine device insertion. She continues to work casually in obstetrics at the Toowoomba Hospital while undertaking her general practice training.

Gemma previously worked at Sydney Children’s Hospital to further her paediatrics skills and has completed the Sydney Child Health Program (formerly Diploma of Child Health).

Outside of medicine, Gemma loves travelling, reading a good book, and spending time with her family.

Dr Sidonie Matthew

Sidonie graduated medicine at the University of Tasmania in 2020, completing her clinical years at the Rural Clinical School in Burnie. She moved to Queensland for her internship and completed her junior resident years at Redcliffe before spending time in Orthopaedics at both Redcliffe Hospital and Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital.

Sidonie is excited to be relocating to Toowoomba for 2024 with a special interest in Sports Medicine. Having completed the Management of Sports Trauma (MOST) course to further her skills in this area.

When not at work you will find Sidonie exploring the scenic trails and hikes  surrounding Toowoomba.
